3D Printed Glock 19, Pistol Design

The Banana Standard pistol originated as an art project. It was created it for the 3D engineering experience, however I was overtaken by my own curiosity when I decided to actually try firing it. The plastic frame of the handgun was designed in Autodesk Fusion 360, and printed in PLA. The slide and other mechanical components were made using a HAAS CNC mill, while the barrel was purchased on ebay. It has fired hundreds of rounds of full-power 9mm cartridges without issue. This project was a wonderful learning experience in product design and development!

A 3D printed pistol of my own design, the Banana Standard is mechanically identical to a Glock pistol. It differs only in its outward appearance. It was printed in black PLA on a Prusa MK2 with 100 micron layers.
